A big thanks to Ben & Simone from Blue Label Diving in Phuket and Tony (Padi Regional Manager) and Rob (Padi Examiner) for showing us how to use the side mounts and rebreathers. It was a truly cool experience and we are looking forward to do some more Tech diving with them at the end of our season, around April 2012. As you can tell from the pictures, we have had a great fun and interesting time.

Please be aware that although 1/3rd of Thailand under water is right now, this is the parts in the North of Thailand. We, Palm Beach Divers, are located in the far South of Thailand, ca. 11 hours by car away from Bangkok, so have no floods here. Actually we are having brilliant hot weather here, perfect diving conditions (flat sea and great visibility) and some people saw a manta and 2 whalesharks 2 days ago!! We only do not have many people on the island right now. You can fly to us also from Singapore to Krabi and from Kuala Lumpur to Krabi or Phuket. There are even some airlines who fly straight to Phuket. Please do come over and dive with us !!
Thanks for your attention,
greetings,
Lisa

The newspapers in Europe and some in Asia as well have been describing the closure of the 18 dive sites in Thailand as a complete closure of dive sites in the South of Thailand. This is incorrect. The only dive site which is closed in our direct area is: Koh Klang. All other ca. 40 dive sites are open and have not been effected that much by the coral bleaching. Most effected are: shallow area of Koh Rok and shallow area of the inside of Bida Nok and Nai. This year we are happy to be able to say, that Hin Daeng and Koh Ha have much better corals and we have been having sightings of manta’s even in Koh Ha area !
We hope that the Marine Park in Thailand comes up with some good plans for the other dive sites, because closure is not by itself helping the corals and divers are not distroying them.
If you want any further information about this, please feel free to send us an email.
